At Harbour Hounds, we pride ourselves on providing reliable, professional and personalised care. As our services operate with limited availability and small group sizes, we ask all clients to read and agree to the following Booking & Cancellation Policy.

At Harbour Hounds, we pride ourselves on providing reliable, professional and personalised care. As our services operate with limited availability and small group sizes, we ask all clients to read and agree to the following Booking & Cancellation Policy.


Booking Confirmation

Bookings are confirmed only once availability has been agreed and any required payment or deposit has been received.

Until you receive confirmation from Harbour Hounds, requested dates and times cannot be guaranteed.

We recommend booking as early as possible, particularly for weekends, school holidays, Easter, Christmas and other peak periods, as availability is limited.


Payments

Dog Walking

Payment is due weekly in advance unless otherwise agreed.

Daycare

Daycare is €40 per dog, per day.

Payment is due on the first day of each booked week unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

Collection & Drop-Off

A collection and drop-off service is available, subject to availability, for €5 each way, per dog within our local region. (Prices may vary pending location)

Home Boarding & Pet Sitting

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all home boarding and pet sitting bookings.

The remaining balance is payable no later than 7 days before the booking begins.

Bookings made within seven days of the start date must be paid in full when booking.

Late or outstanding payments may result in future bookings being declined until the account has been settled.


Regular Bookings

Clients with recurring dog walking or daycare bookings are allocated a reserved space.

If you wish to cancel a regular booking permanently, we kindly ask for at least one week's notice where possible.

Repeated cancellations may result in your reserved space being offered to another client.


Changes to Bookings

We understand that plans sometimes change.

If you need to amend a booking, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will always do our best to accommodate changes; however, all amendments remain subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.


Cancellation Policy

As Harbour Hounds provides personalised care with limited spaces, cancellations at short notice can be difficult to fill.

We therefore ask clients to provide as much notice as possible.

Dog Walking

  • More than 24 hours notice – no cancellation charge.

  • Less than 24 hours notice – the full fee may be charged.

Daycare

  • More than 72 hours notice – no cancellation charge.

  • Less than 72 hours notice – the full daycare fee may be charged if the space cannot be be filled.

Home Boarding & Pet Sitting

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before the booking start date will not incur any further charges.

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the booking may be charged the full remaining balance if the reserved dates cannot be rebooked.

Holiday Bookings

Holiday periods, including Christmas, Easter, Bank Holidays and school holidays, are particularly busy.

To secure these dates:

  • A non-refundable deposit is required.

  • The remaining balance must be paid before the booking begins.

  • Holiday cancellations made at short notice may be charged in full where the booking cannot be replaced.


Missed Appointments

Please ensure your dog is ready at the agreed collection time and that we have safe access to your property where applicable.

If we are unable to collect your dog due to lack of access, missing keys, incorrect access information or your dog not being ready, the scheduled service may still be chargeable.


Collection & Drop-Off Service

Where Harbour Hounds provides transport, dogs will travel safely using suitable restraints or travel crates appropriate for their size and comfort.

Owners are responsible for ensuring collection and drop-off details remain accurate and up to date.

Any changes should be communicated as early as possible.


Illness & Welfare

If your dog becomes unwell before a scheduled booking, please notify us immediately.

Dogs displaying symptoms of contagious illness, including coughing, vomiting, diarrhoea, fever or other infectious conditions, must not attend our services.

Where possible, bookings may be rescheduled once your dog has recovered.


Weather & Safety

Your dog's safety and welfare are always our priority.

Walks, daycare activities or home visits may be shortened, modified, postponed or cancelled where weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances make it unsafe to proceed.

Examples include:

  • High temperatures

  • Storms

  • Flooding

  • Snow or ice

  • Road closures

  • Vehicle breakdowns

  • Other emergencies

Harbour Hounds shall not be held liable for cancellations or interruptions to services caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, vehicle breakdowns, power outages, natural events or emergencies.

 


Emergency Veterinary Care

If your dog becomes ill or injured while in our care, we will contact you immediately.

If emergency veterinary treatment is required and you cannot be reached, you authorise Harbour Hounds to seek veterinary treatment on your behalf.

All veterinary fees and associated costs remain the responsibility of the owner.


Owner Responsibilities

Owners agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding their dog's health, behaviour and care requirements.

  • Inform Harbour Hounds immediately of any illness, injury, medication or behavioural changes.

  • Ensure vaccinations, flea treatments and worming are kept up to date.

  • Provide a reliable emergency contact.

  • Ensure payment is made by the agreed due date.

  • Ensure safe access to their property where collection or home visits are required.


Right to Refuse or Cancel Services

Harbour Hounds reserves the right to refuse, suspend or discontinue services where:

  • A dog's health or welfare may be compromised.

  • A dog's behaviour presents a risk to people, other dogs or property.

  • Required vaccinations have not been maintained.

  • Information has not been fully disclosed.

  • Payment terms have not been met.

  • Circumstances arise that prevent us from providing services safely.

Where appropriate, we will discuss any concerns with you before making this decision.

Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking with Harbour Hounds, you confirm that you have:

  • Read and understood this Booking & Cancellation Policy.

  • Agreed to our payment and cancellation terms.

  • Provided accurate information about your dog.

  • Accepted responsibility for veterinary costs incurred on your behalf.

  • Agreed to the Harbour Hounds Daycare, Dog Walking, Home Boarding, Pet Sitting and Privacy Policies where applicable.
